Who We Are

Barry and Jeff have been partners for over a dozen years, sharing the same passions but with completely different skillsets. Barry started as a researcher then moved into the advertising world as a communications strategist where he discovered his passion and talent for getting to the essence of “the idea.” Jeff was a performer and musician, then a producer and creator of television and film content. They met at Time Inc. where their combined talents evolved the Consumer Insight team from data-based researchers to an inspiring band of consumer storytellers. Barry’s strategic vision combined with Jeff’s dramatic storycraft became a winning formula for bringing numbers and words to life, and humanizing information for their clients. TELL-IGNITE was created to build a world full of brands telling great stories, one great client at a time.

Barry Martin Insights Strategy
Barry is Co-Founder and Chief Strategist of TELL-IGNITE. Prior to forming TELL-IGNITE, Barry led the Consumer Insight team at Time Inc., one of America’s largest media companies. His work and knowledge of the consumer spans a wide variety of genres including news, sports, finance, business, technology, style, entertainment, pop culture and lifestyle. He uses innovative methods and storied presentations to deliver “insightful stories that drive decisions” -- educating marketers, sales teams and content creators in ways that ignite decisions. He has conducted a number of industry initiatives including “Storytelling In A Multiplatform World” and “A (Biometric) Day In The Life” – a first-of-its-kind study that measured peoples’ in-the-moment emotional reaction to various forms of content during the course of their actual day.

Barry is also an Adjunct Professor at NYU where he teaches graduate courses in Consumer Behavior, Research Process and Methodology and Storytelling for Brands.

Prior to joining Time Inc., Barry was Executive Vice President of Consumer Insights for MediaCom, a Grey Worldwide Company, where he was responsible for integrating consumer insights into the media planning and buying process.

Jeff is Co-Founder and Chief Storyteller of TELL-IGNITE. Prior to forming TELL-IGNITE, Jeff was the Chief Storyteller for the Consumer Insight team at Time Inc., one of America’s largest media companies. He applies his extensive experience in entertainment to finding the drama in data for marketers, sales teams and content creators. Jeff’s work humanizes data -- making it accessible, memorable, and actionable. He can be found at the intersection of business and performance.

​Jeff performed in film, television and on stage for over twenty years. He is a Co-Founder of 102 Stories, a film and television production company where he performs many disparate roles ranging from project creation to writing, producing and composing. Jeff’s film and television content has premiered in film festivals around the world.
